I was talking about using traffic exchanges for marketing over at John Dilbeck And Friends and we started discussing Cognigen and marketing their products.

I would like to invite you to join the discussion at Who wants to discuss Cognigen and marketing their products?

I am looking forward to an interesting and educational discussion.

New home for Dilbeck Communications

posted April 18th, 2007 posted posted by John Dilbeck

I never thought it would take months to refocus my marketing efforts and to find a new home for my websites and blogs.

I’ve compared numerous webhosting services and decided last month that I would move all my sites to HostGator.

There were several reasons for making the move.

I had grown increasingly unhappy with the other hosting companies I was using. I had found HostGator to be very reliable while building and testing 21st Century Articles. The few support requests were handled quickly and accurately.

So, over the last week, I’ve been transferring my sites to a new, more powerful server at HostGator.

The transition has been remarkably smooth and I want to express my thanks to the people in the transfers, support, and upgrades departments at HostGator who helped make this so easy.

Now, I should have much more time to devote to helping you find quality communications services at reasonable prices.

It’s taken a long time and a lot of behind-the-scenes work to get here. I hope you will be a regular visitor.

Please feel free to comment on anything you see here.

Act on your dream!

Starting over with DilbeckCommunications.com

posted August 10th, 2006 posted posted by John Dilbeck

It’s been several months since I was able to turn my attention back to this website and to attempt to catch up with the news and marketing of communications products.

I had already decided I was going to change the entire site and rid myself of PHP-Nuke. Ever since I installed it on this site and a couple of others, I’ve been plagued with hackers and spammers. Yesterday morning, I looked at the site and it had been hacked, again, and that was the last straw.

I backed up and downloaded the database and deleted everything on the site. I installed a current version of WordPress and decided to use the new Zipsense theme developed by the great folks at Got-Zip.com.

It’s different from any other theme I’ve used, so I’ll have to get used to it and learn how to work with it to the best advantage with this site and the posts I’ll be adding to this blog over time.

Normally, I like to show at least ten messages on the home page, but I’m going to try using only the most recent two messages and see how it works.

Hopefully, the problem with hacking will be lessened and I won’t have to always redo everything, but we know that change is a constant.

From this point forward, I will not be using PHP-Nuke for a content management system or PHPBB as a forum on any of my sites. I have one last forum powerd by PHPBB on another site that needs to be eliminated and then maybe I can turn my attention to doing what I want to be doing, which is learning about communications products and services that offer great value for a reasonable price.

I’ll turn my attention back to that starting with my next posting.

I apologize for the disruption and all the changes, but, hopefully, I think it will be for the best.
